Perspective. We mostly go through our daily lives by going through the motions. One day leads to the next. Alarm, breakfast, school, lunch, more school, practice, homework, dinner, TV, bedtime. Something like that. Most days are not special or memorable. For example, can you remember what you did on November 7th of last year? Me neither.

This simple 1-minute video reminds us that we all will die someday. It’s inevitable. Most of us hardly ever think about this cold fact. It’s too abstract, maybe too distant and certainly too unpleasant. This video asks us to imagine that last day, the inevitability of that last day. And, on that final day, what if you were given an opportunity to return to today, November 7th of 2023? You could now live today all over again.  How would you do it differently? Would you find a way to make it special or memorable? Would you make sure that you told family members how much you loved them? Would you check off a bucket list item? Would you go out of your way to have a meaningful conversation or be especially kind?

Joe’s Perspective: The average human will live 80 years. That’s 29,200 days. It sure sounds like a lot of days. At the age of 54, I have used up 19,710 of those days. I wonder how many of those days I wasted by going through the motions or taking things for granted.   Mathematically, the number must be in the thousands. How about you? How many days have you wasted? How many did you make truly memorable? And, the bottom line is that you can’t do anything about those days. They are gone, never to be lived again. The question is, how do you live the remainder of your days? I hope it is with purpose and enthusiasm… joy and laughter… determination and integrity… love and friendship…
